Faculty

Allan Baron

Allan Baron comes to us with a diverse background and a strong desire to serve and advise. Growing up in a large family in Connecticut that inspired values of community service and education, Allan went on to attain a BA degree from the University of Connecticut and a Law degree from Suffolk Law School in Boston. Allan has worked in private law practices in Stamford, CT and later in Andover, MA for over 20 years. In addition, he served as an adjunct professor at the Massachusetts School of Law while also operating his own mediation business with emphasis on helping divorcing couples. His desire to better serve his clients in estate, business and investment planning led him to obtain various financial and insurance designations with a specialty as a certified divorce financial advisor CDFA™.

Allan resides in Andover, MA with his nurse/attorney wife Amy Beth, a mini goldendoodle Mason and has two 20 something children; Mariah, a special education teacher in Burlington, VT and Alex, a musician/sound production artist in NYC.

Daniel Joseph Marco

Daniel J. Marco has been an attorney for twenty-three years and is licensed in the States of Arizona, New Mexico and Ohio. Dan started practicing with his father in 1987 and their practice flourished until his father decided to retire. In Ohio, Dan litigated two fire cases against General Motors, sucessfully,tried hundreds of criminal cases and filed numerous 42 USC Sec 1983 cases against governmental entities. He was acting Judge in the Medina Municipal Court and appeared in many newspaper and television news stories.

After his father retired, Dan moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico where he served as a public defender. He quickly established himself as a leader there and the Department gave him the District Defender Award his first year and then Employee of the Year the following year. As a public defender he litigated a felony trial a week on average. In Arizona, Dan had managed law firms for others but he has decided to return to his roots. He is now the founding member of two law firms; Marco | Wimmer, PLLC in Tempe, Arizona; and Marco and Shattuck, in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Dan lives in Arizona with his wife, three children, two dogs, two cats and a turtle who has been roaming around the house for the last fifteen years. His oldest son is getting ready to go to law school.

Kathleen Mirabile

Kathleen Mirabile has 12 years of executive and operations experience in the distance-learning field. Kathleen previously served as the Vice President and Provost of the College of the Humanities and Sciences, Harrison Middleton University. She is the Chair of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) Research and Educational Standards Sub-Committee and serves as a DETC educational standards evaluator for institutions seeking accreditation.

In addition to her duties at The Paralegal Institute, Kathleen is the President of our sister school, Brighton College. Brighton College provides quality online education to students seeking a career in the health services fields.

Kathleen earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Mexico, a Master of Arts in Jurisprudence from Harrison Middleton University, and the Executive Juris Doctor from Concord University, School of Law.

Since Kathleen joined The Paralegal Institute in 2007, she has led the effort to convert the college’s programs to an online delivery and to building a team of professionals with a common passion to facilitate the success of our students.

Gautam Sen

Gautam Sen has been a member of the Arizona Bar since 2003. He is also a member of the State Bar of Connecticut, admitted in 2002, and the Washington D.C. Bar, admitted in 2004. Currently, he is a member of the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee of the Arizona Bar as well. He is also licensed to practice in the United States District Court, District of Arizona Gautam received his Juris Doctorate at Western New England College School of Law in Massachusetts in 2002. Additionally, he has two Bachelor degrees: Bachelor of Technology in “Instrumentation & Control Systems” from Jadavpur University; and Bachelor of Science with Honors in “Physics” from the University of Calcutta. He received his Masters degree in “Nuclear Engineering” from the University of Cincinnati.

Prior to practicing law, Gautam held the position of Licensing Manager at nuclear utilities. Gautam practiced Administrative Law in Washington D.C. in the area of Energy. In Arizona, Gautam has practiced both civil and criminal litigations and has been In-House Counsel for Progressive Insurance Company. His legal experience includes business transactions, property rights, landlord/tenant issues, insurance claims, DUI/OUI, as well personal injuries/accidents, both in the Justice Court and Superior Court for the State of Arizona. Gautam now practices bankruptcy cases at Phillips & Associates.

Gautam was Adjunct Faculty at Arizona State University and various community colleges in various states, including community colleges in Maricopa County, Arizona. He is currently Adjunct Faculty at Glendale Community College and Faculty at The Paralegal Institute in Glendale, Arizona
